Classes
The Concept - Charlene’s School of Dance is a unique studio offering classes in a wide variety of dance techniques. Established in 1963, Charlene’s School of Dance has continued to provide training in all areas and levels of performance. Charlene’s School of Dance provides a nurturing atmosphere of encouragement, warmth and generosity. Our professional staff shares the joy of their art through instruction for students, age 3 - adult.
DANCE – Dance class is a self-confidence builder where skills and technique are developed.
COMPANY DANCE CLASSES - This program is designed to provide the opportunity to perform and compete. Extensive training time and discipline are needed. Company dancers are required to attend Dance Camp and be involved in the Nutcracker as well as shows and dance workshops/conventions. Dancers may only miss three Company dance classes a year. Company dancers are required to enroll in ballet class, jazz class, and hip hop, tap or contemporary in addition to their company classes.
POINTE - A combination of factors including age, anatomy, bone development, strength, length of training, and attitude determined those students who qualify for pointe class. Pre-pointe is a pre-requisite. Pointe dancers are required to take advanced ballet classes throughout their pointe training.
PRIVATE AND SEMI-PRIVATE - by arrangement with dance instructor. The student must be enrolled in a combination and a company dance class in order to enroll for class. No observers please. No private lessons will be given to those who do not attend Summer Dance Camp. Solo classes and dances are reserved for our Junior/Senior high school dancers as well as our company members. Soloist wanting to cancel their lesson must call within two hours of their scheduled time or will be charged an additional $10.00.
*Due to the limited number of hours for private lessons, NO MAKE-UP LESSONS WILL BE SCHEDULED.
SPECIALTY – Specialty classes include: Turns & Leaps, Acro, Contemporary and Conditioning. These classes represent a giant step forward in the artistic, physical development, and mental disciplinary process of your child’s education.

$52.00 – 1 class 1 ½ hour per week

*This includes all DANCE classes regardless of time, type etc. Add $5.00 to all monthly fees except cap pricing, for any student or is enrolled in the 1 1/2-hour combo class ($52.00 class).
